Since its establishment in July 1976, B. K. School of Business Management has emerged as one of the eminent B-schools in the country.

In 1983, the school started an evening programme for practicing professionals. This provided an ideal platform for the working executives to hone their managerial skills. Most importantly, this has allowed the school to continuously interact with the business world and has resulted in a rich confluence of first hand industrial experience with the academic world.

Over the years, B. K. School of Business Management has easily adapted to the various changes in the business environment. The students have been trained by the best minds that are stalwarts in their respective fields. The year 2003 saw the introduction of the University examination system. This has allowed the school to be a part of a larger family, while retaining its own identity and inherent strengths. Major changes and upgradation in system were made at school in 2009. B. K. gained its autonomous status back by now being the only school under Gujarat University to give 2 year full time MBA degree.

A new syllabus was designed keeping in mind the expectations and requirements of corporate world. Credit system of grading was also introduced. To improve the employability of students, dual specialization has been started from the batch 2009-2011. They can also opt for General Management without any specialization which is a unique course structure in itself.

The achievements of the school have been duly recognized and it is widely acknowledged as a leading management institute in the country. The alumni of the school occupy leadership positions in the Industry, Government, Administrative and Foreign Services as well as the academic field. In the forty first year of its existence, the school continues to reinvent itself in order to serve the rapidly developing Indian economy.

The school is situated in Ahmedabad – the largest city of Gujarat. The city is one of the leading industrial districts of the country and is home to a large number of enterprises in the fields of textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and engineering. Ahmedabad is also the city where the charkha, a symbol of self-reliance, was set in motion.
